Anthropic and Rum Group Reach $13.7 Billion Computing Agreement
Anthropic has signed a six-year computing agreement worth $13.7 billion with Rum Group. Rum Group is a company associated with social media and has long-standing ties to the Trump administration. Founded in 2013, Rum emerged as an alternative to YouTube for small content creators and gained conservative attention after the 2020 U.S. presidential election. The company hosts Trump's Truth Social and streams official White House broadcasts. This deal is the latest in a series of cloud computing agreements Anthropic has made over the past year, partnering with major cloud service providers like Google, SpaceX, and smaller new cloud Nscale. Due to the surge in demand for Claude Code and Cowork products, these agreements total at least 14,800 megawatts of computing power, with costs reaching up to $517 billion over the next decade. The deal with Rum will increase this total.
