Apple is redesigning Siri as an interactive AI assistant to be integrated into key devices such as the iPhone and Mac. This strategy focuses on device ecosystem and privacy, excluding cryptocurrency payments or wallet integration. In a statement on June 8, Apple introduced Siri AI as a secretary based on Apple Intelligence, highlighting key features such as conversational responses, understanding personal context, screen recognition, and answering with the latest web-based information. Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, described it as a 'more capable and conversational assistant.' Siri AI will be integrated into the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, allowing users to find necessary information from messages and emails, photos, or ask follow-up questions based on displayed content. Apple began developer testing on the day of the announcement and plans to provide a beta version later this year for supported devices and users with English settings. Apple's AI strategy differs from the Crypto AI project, emphasizing privacy through on-device processing and private cloud computing. There are limitations on service regions, and due to issues with the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA), the launch of Siri AI for iPhone and iPad has been postponed. Siri AI and the new Apple Intelligence features will not be available in China while regulatory requirements are being reviewed.
