Bitcoin Fails to Recover Stock Premiums Despite Reaching $80,000
The price of Bitcoin (BTC) has reached $80,000, but the stock premiums of publicly traded companies that hold large amounts of Bitcoin have not recovered. According to CryptoSlate, an analysis of the Bitcoin financial strategies of companies such as Strategy, Twenty One Capital, and Metaplanet revealed that their premiums have not rebounded. BTC fell below $79,000 during morning trading in Asia. As of August 16, Strategy held 840,447 BTC and did not trade Bitcoin during that period. The company reported that its USD Reserve stands at $4.8 billion. Twenty One Capital held 43,514 BTC as of June 30 and recorded a net loss of $1,273,231,231. Metaplanet holds 43,000 BTC and plans to launch the U.S. Bitcoin financial platform Superplanet with an investment of 2,100 BTC and $2.5 million in cash. The valuation criteria for Bitcoin financial companies have narrowed down to the total amount of coins held, focusing on shareholder equity, with debts and preferred shares being prioritized. The market capitalization of the top 50 Bitcoin-holding companies is expected to decrease from $150 billion in 2025 to $67 billion in 2026.
