Brazil Implements Real-Time Alert System for Cryptocurrency Transactions
The Central Bank of Brazil is advancing a real-time alert system to detect and monitor cryptocurrency transactions. Developed in collaboration with Hypernative, the system will connect banks, exchanges, and sector associations. This initiative comes after an attack in July 2025 that resulted in the theft of $180 million, part of which was converted into bitcoin and USDT. The goal is to improve the traceability of funds as they transition from the traditional financial system to digital platforms. Tests of the system have already been conducted, and alerts have been issued, with plans to expand its integration into the Brazilian market. Sector associations will also receive alerts to distribute among their members. Regina Pedroso, director of ABToken, emphasized the importance of maintaining traceability of resources in this process. This measure adds to other supervisory actions in Brazil to strengthen control over operations with digital assets and reduce response time to irregular activities.
