China announced a package of economic measures against the United States, including quotas on drone shipments and a ban on commercial ties with six American companies. This action responds to recent restrictions imposed by the US government. Tensions between the two economies are escalating ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the United States in September. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce indicated that the sanctions are a reaction to US measures, such as the ban on importing Chinese drones and the inclusion of 43 Chinese companies on the list of entities under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. China believes these decisions violate previous agreements and affect its rights and interests. Beijing demands a case-by-case review of exports of unmanned aerial vehicles and has included these products on a list of dual-use goods. Six US entities, including Applied DNA Sciences and Human Rights in China, are prohibited from engaging in commercial activities with China. Additionally, Compliance Testing LLC will not be able to operate in the country, accused of collaborating with the FCC. American companies that conducted inspections for CCC certification will no longer be able to issue such certifications and must turn to auditors outside the US.
