Odaily News The concept of stablecoins has continued to be strong recently. On the news front, the Hong Kong Stablecoin Ordinance will take effect in August. The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Paul Hui, said on the 7th that the HKMA is currently consulting the market on the implementation of the guidelines for the regulations. The guidelines will be announced within this month, and the specific content will involve anti-money laundering and other related requirements. Paul Hui also stated that the number of stablecoin licenses issued will be in the single digits, and he hopes to receive applications after the regulations come into effect, with the goal of issuing licenses within this year.
