HSBC: Fed's Decision Not to Raise Rates Makes It Hard for Dollar to Rise

HSBC economist Paul Mackel pointed out in a report that unless the Federal Reserve unexpectedly raises interest rates, this week's decision will not provide new catalysts for the dollar to rise. Fed Chair Waller acknowledged that inflation is above target and reiterated the commitment to price stability. He stated that if this week's meeting aligns only with these views, the dollar is unlikely to rise significantly, as the market has already priced in a rate hike later this year.
