In the Kyiv region, the organizer and two accomplices of a scheme for the illegal import of over 117 tons of alcohol valued at nearly 97 million UAH have been uncovered. The smuggling was disguised as a fuel additive using a fictitious company and forged documents. The alcohol was listed in customs documents as a fuel additive, Fuel Additive Solvent, altering the product code and its name. From September to October 2024, more than 117 tons of ethyl and methyl alcohol were moved across the state border. The truck drivers were not informed of the true nature of the cargo. The Kyiv regional prosecutor's office has reported suspicions against the organizer of the scheme and two accomplices. The actions of the suspects have been classified under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 2 of article 201-4, part 2 of article 205-1, part 2 of article 28, part 4 of article 358.
