Data from the Korea Exchange indicates that recent pullbacks in semiconductor heavyweight stocks have led to a shift in funds towards non-semiconductor sectors. From August 3 to 7, Samsung Electronics fell by 12.00%, and SK Hynix dropped by 17.23%, while the KOSPI index declined by 5.10% during the same period; in contrast, sectors such as metals and machinery saw gains. The market capitalization of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix has decreased from 58.9% of the KOSPI on June 25 to 46.3% on August 7. Excluding these two companies, the KOSPI's net profit forecast for this year has been revised upward from 219.2 trillion won last week to 222.3 trillion won, with improved market earnings further supporting the valuation recovery of the non-semiconductor sector. KB Securities analyst Kim Min-kyu noted that the current market performance is more indicative of a revaluation of overlooked industries rather than a mere expansion of market gains.
