The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note rose to 4.209%, the highest level since early September, as the market awaits the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and economic projections. Although the market widely expects the Fed to cut rates by 25 basis points, investors are concerned that the Fed may suggest limited room for further rate cuts in the future.
Analysts at TD Securities expect the Fed to signal that future rate cuts will depend on economic data. However, the U.S. interest rate market has already largely priced in this stance. Therefore, analysts point out that if yields continue to rise after the announcement, the magnitude of the increase may be limited, and there may be a slight retreat soon after. (FXStreet)
