The Netherlands Plays a Major Role in the Solana Network with 19.6 Percent of Transactions
The Netherlands is the second most important location for the computers behind Solana, accounting for 19.6 percent of the transactions for creating new blocks. Germany has the largest share at 36.1 percent, followed by the United States with 15.2 percent. These figures are based on the location of the computers and not on the number of Dutch Solana holders. Amsterdam is the key city in the Netherlands, responsible for 19.4 percent of all transactions. This makes the city the second most important place for Solana computers after Frankfurt. The measurement says nothing about the ownership of the equipment, as foreign parties can also place their servers in Dutch data centers. Nearly three-quarters of all transactions go to computers in Europe, highlighting the dependence on major data center cities like Amsterdam and Frankfurt. This concentration can pose a risk; if a major region goes down, a large part of the network could be affected. The Solana Foundation has previously emphasized the importance of spreading across different countries and data centers.
