XRP Ledger Permission Delegation Amendment Receives 7 Votes, Falls Short of Mainnet Activation Threshold
The PermissionDelegationV1_1 amendment for the XRP Ledger (XRPL) received 7 votes in the validator voting process but did not meet the mainnet activation threshold of 80% support. As of 7:40 PM KST on the 21st, XRP Complete reported that 28 votes are needed out of 35 validators. This amendment is notable as it is a support vote for the permission delegation amendment included in Ripple's XRPL 3.3.0 upgrade. The permission delegation feature allows the delegation of authority for specific transaction types to other accounts, providing the advantage of granular access control in institutional infrastructure. However, a maximum of 10 permissions can be granted to each delegation target, and permissions cannot be delegated to pseudo-accounts. The previous PermissionDelegation was deactivated due to a bug discovered in 2025 and has been replaced by PermissionDelegationV1_1. Currently, the vote count is significantly below the threshold, and concerns have been raised due to the bug history of the previous amendment. This amendment must undergo validator voting and a 2-week maintenance condition before it can be applied as an actual mainnet rule.
