Gold Price Outlook 2026: Third-Party Analyst Scenarios (Maintained, Educational)

By: WEEX|2026/07/16 17:21:24

This page is an educational, monthly-maintained record that compares what third parties say about the 2026 gold (XAU) price. Every figure below is attributed to a named source with the date it was published or retrieved. It is not a WEEX prediction and not financial advice — the numbers are dated snapshots that move, so treat them as scenarios to understand, not targets to act on.

Market snapshot (as of 16 July 2026)

Gold was quoted at about $3,992.61 per troy ounce as of 16 July 2026 (source: TradingEconomics), reported down about 1.67% on the day and about 6.27% over the prior month, but roughly 19.58% higher than a year earlier. This is a dated reference point, not a live price.

Third-party analyst scenarios for 2026–2027

Source (date)ViewDetail as stated
J.P. Morgan Global Research (9 Jun 2026)~$6,000/oz by 4Q 2026Full-year 2026 average ~$5,243/oz; 2027 quarters ~$6,200–$6,300 (2027 average ~$6,263). Stated: "gold to push $6,000/oz by year end, and $6,300/oz a possibility for 2027." This June update was a downward revision versus their February 2026 forecast.
TradingEconomics model (16 Jul 2026)~$4,203.76 end-of-quarter; ~$4,501.01 in 12 monthsStatistical model estimate, not an analyst opinion.

Note the gap: J.P. Morgan's house view sits well above both the current spot and the TradingEconomics model output. A large spread like this usually reduces to a single question — whether policy rates ease or hold — and it is exactly why we record dated scenarios rather than a single point number.

What analysts commonly cite as drivers

The bullish case is generally built on continued central-bank buying and expectations of interest-rate cuts, which would reopen the ETF buying channel. The more cautious case is higher-for-longer rates keeping a lid on prices. We attach numbers to these drivers only where a named source provides them.

Long-horizon (2030): why we do not publish a single number

At the time of writing we could not verify a 2030 gold point target from a named institution with a consistent figure (public estimates we saw conflicted), so we omit a 2030 target rather than present an unsourced or contradictory one. We will add a 2030 figure here only when a credible, named source publishes one we can cite cleanly.

How to read this page

These are scenarios, not forecasts we endorse. Before acting on any number, confirm it is current and consider your own risk tolerance and time horizon.
