Viktor Glushchenko Resigns as CEO of SmartAss Amid Threads Scandal
Viktor Glushchenko is stepping down as the head of the SmartAss fitness club network following a scandalous post on the social media platform Threads. He admitted to violating company rules by bringing the story of former employee Irina Klachek into the public domain. Glushchenko boasted that over his eight years at the company, he conducted more than 1,000 interviews, then cited an example where one of the employees faked work activity. Klachek responded to his post, detailing her experience at the company, including overtime hours and toxic communication. Her response sparked widespread resonance on social media and forced Glushchenko to publicly apologize. Communication experts noted that such actions undermine trust in leaders. Sergey Shcherbina, managing partner at Rada Capital, suggested that Glushchenko's resignation could lead to a reassessment of the owners' views on his leadership and the company's HR system.
