On August 4, SK Hynix and representatives from the Korean union held the fifth round of bonus negotiations at the SK Hynix factory in Cheongju, where there are discrepancies regarding the bonus plan. Last year, SK Hynix agreed to allocate 10% of its annual operating profit to employees, with an expected average bonus of 779 million won (approximately $547,127) per employee by 2026. The union reported that management proposed to pay more than half of the bonus in the form of stocks and to impose restrictions on the selling period. The company wishes to adjust bonus payments in the event of losses, while the union stated that it would never accept arrangements that would make members bear the risks of stock price fluctuations.
